Leap of Faith

Well, it has been quite an eventful week. After 2.5 years managing apartments in Beaverton Oregon my wife and I have finally decided to throw in the towel and explore other options. It is quite an exciting time, after finishing the second half of our two weeks notice we will be moving downtown where Catherine will be working part time and I will be pursuing art full time. I am very excited and optimistic about it all.

Cheated

Thought I would toss up a few art cards today. Been working on a 3d version of the red devil guy that should be all finished up tonight. I will post him on the bog when the time is right.

Thought I would post something other than art cards. Made this for an illustration class a couple terms ago. The topic was the crucible. After showing several ideas to the class this is the one that they all voted on. I should have some more goodness to post soon.

Some old stuff

Thought I would post some old stuff from my days studying graphic design at PSU. At the time I thought this was pretty hot stuff, now I look at it and cringe. It is funny how that is. This first one is a reproduction of a Botticielli painting that a recreated using illustrator and photoshop. The other three were for the same class and was done in illustrator. The subject is an apartment community that I managed a few years ago. Good times.

A page from my dear friend Mr. Sketchbook. Occasionaly I get a visitor to my art blog so I thought that maybe I should update it with some some sort of art every once in a while.

VICTOR

Meet Victor. I have been trying to get some personal art done in between my many assignments this term. It is reaching the halfway mark and my class projects are not getting any smaller. I think I am keeping on top of everything much more efficiently then I ever have before so I should be able to find more and more time to work on some of my own stuff. Good times. I will post some of my class art work as well as it is completed. Good day.

Happy time!

Finals week has just ended and I am feeling good. Still feeling a little tired from the past couple days of getting projects ready for the last day of the term, I went 51 hours with only 30 minutes of sleep, but it was all worth it in the end. Here is the celebratory 30 minute self portrait.

An illustration I did in January for my sister Denise. She wrote a story for the local paper about the crazy stunts we would pull with our sleds during the winter time in the small town we grew up in.

Buddy

Little illustration I did for one of my sisters short stories. It is about her english bull dog named buddy, and the slobbermites who party in his slobber keeping him from getting the love that he deserves.

Time

This is not a recent awareness I have come to, but just thought that I would say it again. There is just not enough time in the day. I missed my portraits for a few days but I made sure to make the time this afternoon to sit down and paint for a bit. My day just does not feel right without it. Also I am posting a few recent cards.
