Tree house Sketches

Here are the sketches that I decided to proceed with. Now on to the tonal drawings! After all of my sketching I decided to go back to one of the early sketches I had done of a little house on a windblown tree hanging over a cliff. I then decided that it would work better as an out house.

Tree House WIP

In my concept class we are doing tree house designs. The assignment is to bring to bring 3 shots to finished paintings. An establishing shot, a medium shot, and a close up shot of the tree house. I thought it would be fun to blog my progression. These are a slew of initial thumbnails and sketches I did. If you click on it you can see a larger version I think.

TERMITES

Haven't posting anything since before Thanksgiving. Sheesh! My parents come up to celebrate thanksgiving with Catherine and I. And while they were here I came down with the flu. Good times. I am feeling a little better now and thought I would through up some art. I made this before Thanksgiving. Hope everybody had a good one!

It has been a long long day. Whooopedy doo!

The dusty old skate board.

I decided to ride my old skate board to school today. It has been sitting by the door for the past two month since we unpacked. It is the same skate board that I hardly used back when I was in high school.

I thought for sure that I would fall down skinning my hands, sending the contents of my book bag scattering across the street and sidewalk. But no, it was actually a lot of fun cruising on my old board to class. I am now wanting a long board with some softer wheels. I will now place that long board on my long long with list of things to buy when I have money.

Office Demon - Low Poly - Begger

This is a low-poly game model that I am working on at school. He is a predator animal that lives on a forest planet.

I was really happy with the way the bricks and cement turned out in this little rendering. Probably the best art card I have made so far in my opinion.

I would image that in the underworld there must be some kind of method for keeping track of all those damned souls. George here is a member of a whole army of demons devoted to the task of managing all of Hell’s paperwork. And by the look on his face it appears that he enjoys the office work just as much as all of us do here in the overworld.

Both of these cards were made with marker and Colored Pencil.

Mixed Media?

These were made with Prisma color markers, pencils, ink, and acrylic. I feel as though I should just call it mixed media. But the thing that has always annoyed me about mixed media is that I never know what was used to create it. So how many media defines a mixed media piece? Is is more than one? Or maybe it is when you don't want people to know what you used to make it (like infectious human waste)? I dunno.

Whilst walking down the path Gretta came across a curiosity. In a perfect world where Gretta had a mouth she would have eaten him whole. But since it is not a perfect world, and she does not have a mouth she decided to make the little blob of slime her new best friend and promptly named him Joe.

I am calling this one the Sun Sprite.

This is a small painting I did in acrylic of my dog danger. I am calling it finished because I want to move forward with other paintings.

A couple of items I just finished today. The fairy girl is in acrylic. I like drawing people with big teeth. I find much joy in it.

Sleeping models

Todays post is a lady I caught sleeping on the max while Catherine and I were riding home from Beaverton a couple weeks ago. I love it when people are snoozing, it makes it so much easier to draw them. Usually you have to look at people from the corner of your eye and hope that they do not confront you. Good times!

Thought I would drop a few of the new things that I finished today. A Halloween themed pumpkin, a cutsey mermaid and fairy, and a self portrait. All done in colored pencil.

JEREMY the WERECRAB

This is Jeremy and his a werecrab. Well, he kind of looks like a mix between a crab and a spider. But that is neither here nor there.

In his human form Jeremy is an anti-social man. He lives along the coastlines of Northern Oregon and Washington earning his wage as a clam digger. he sells his clam harvests to the local restaurants and cafes.

Jeremy chooses only the most deserted beaches to do his clam digging for fear that somebody might stumble upon his little family secret. During every slack tide Jeremy is painfully transformed into a half man, half crab beast and runs wild on the beach. Slack tide usually only lasts a couple of hours and then Jeremy finds himself lying groggily on the beach with little memory of the prior event.

Werecrabs have rarely ever been seen by people. If you ever run into one, you need not fear for your life, they are only about 10 inches tall. The worst that might happen if you get to close is the loss of a toe or two.
